Beta Testing Update: Granting All Testers 16 Legacy Points

To ensure deep data collection on all 3 Legacy progression trees before the beta concludes on October 21, Blizzard is granting 16 spendable Legacy points to every character on test realms.

Greetings testers,

As we head into the second half of our level 30 beta bracket, we want to ensure all players can experiment with end-tier Legacy perks—regardless of whether you have had time to complete the extensive 65 account challenges across multiple alts.

In an upcoming realm restart this week, all current and newly created characters on beta realms will be credited with 16 Legacy Points directly in their Legacy ledger. As a reminder, 16 points represents the maximum spendable cap per individual character build.

We encourage everyone to test diverse combinations across the Adventure, Professions, and Resourcefulness trees and provide feedback on how these perks feel while running Excavation Site: Wetlands and leveling through the contested zones.

Thank you for all your bug reports and telemetry so far!

Combat Design: Warrior Rage Normalization & Talent Pathing Adjustments

Combat design response detailing why baseline rage was smoothed on partial swings, the shift of Flurry behind Death Wish, and early threat increases in Defensive Stance.

We've been closely monitoring combat logs and player feedback regarding Warrior pacing in the level 15–30 bracket. In original Classic Era, Warriors experienced high rotational friction when missing consecutive swings or fighting mobs several levels higher.

Our goal with the recent rage normalization pass is not to turn Warriors into infinite energy machines, but to eliminate the 'zero-rage lockout' where you cannot even execute a Sunder Armor or Rend. Glancing and partial swings will now consistently award a baseline percentage of expected rage based on weapon delay.

Additionally, shifting Flurry to require Death Wish rather than Enrage allows dual-wield Fury warriors to reach their core attack-speed fantasy cleanly by level 30 without sacrificing defensive durability.

Keep your combat telemetry logs coming on the forum!

Beta Update: Native Cooldown Manager, 1-Silver Respecs & Druid Tuning

Kaivax announces the arrival of the native Cooldown Manager UI, temporary 1-silver respec fees for class testing, and critical strike support for Druid healing spells.

Today's beta build introduces several highly requested quality-of-life systems along with class balance updates:

Cooldown Manager: We have added an integrated cooldown tracker to the default user interface for Druids, Mages, Priests, Warriors, and Warlocks. This provides clean visual timers for critical abilities without requiring external addons.

Talent Respec Costs: To facilitate experimentation with different class talent tree combinations, trainers will now charge a flat fee of 1 silver for talent wipes on beta realms.

Druid Balance & Restoration: Wrath mana costs have been adjusted to provide better caster sustain, and Rejuvenation and Tranquility are now eligible to land critical heals.

Known Issues & Client Telemetry: Ray Traced Shadows & Mac Workaround

Blizzard tech post addressing the temporary disabling of Ray Traced Shadows, cross-realm friends list maintenance, and graphics setting recommendations for Apple Silicon Mac testers.

Greetings testers,

Our engineering team is actively tracking a handful of client rendering issues reported during the beta kickoff:

  • Ray Traced Shadows: This graphic setting has been temporarily disabled while we resolve an issue causing crash-to-desktop events on specific GPUs.
  • Mac Users: If you experience visual artifacting or pink/magenta tinting when zoning into crowded areas, setting 'Secondary Lighting' to 'Fair' serves as a stable temporary workaround.
  • Friends List: Cross-realm friends and BattleTag presence in the in-game UI is temporarily offline while social backend infrastructure is updated.
  • Barber Chairs: A client hotfix is rolling out to resolve the LUA exception triggered when interacting with barber chairs.

Please continue filing in-game crash reports with the built-in bug reporter!
