Blizzard has published the finalized Lua API sandbox specifications for WoW Forever. With the Gold Master Build 1.60.5 now pre-loading on Battle.net, Blizzard's UI Engineering team has locked in the finalized Lua API sandbox for World of Warcraft: Forever. Addon developers and players now have unambiguous guidelines on which community addons are certified for launch day and which legacy automation functions remain strictly disabled.

WoW Forever utilizes a modernized Classic interface engine that merges the lightweight rendering performance of the modern engine with the authentic script boundaries of Classic Era. All standard UI hooks, custom unit frames, action bar replacements, and damage meters are fully supported out of the box.

Prohibited Automations & Combat Integrity Rules

Addons attempting to automatically pick target priorities, calculate radar-style distance overlays in world PvP, or chain multiple spell actions onto a single keypress without discrete player input will generate Lua protected-function errors.
Pre-Configuring Your Addon Folder Before Tuesday
To skip launch-minute panic, players who pre-loaded Build 1.60.5 can already extract their favorite addons directly into the 'World of Warcraft/_forever_/Interface/AddOns/' directory. Launching the game on November 4 will immediately load your pre-arranged user interface, letting you rush straight into Northshire or the Valley of Trials without delay.
