Starter Zone Dynamic Sharding Protocols (Levels 1–10 Only)
To avert unplayable quest bottlenecks around early named mobs like Sarkoth, Hogger, and Captain Sanders, Blizzard confirmed that dynamic micro-sharding will be activated exclusively within level 1–10 starting zones (Northshire, Valley of Trials, Coldridge Valley, Camp Narache, Shadowglen, and Deathknell) for the first 72 hours of launch.
Crucially, capital cities (Stormwind, Orgrimmar, Ironforge) and all contested wilderness zones from level 15 onward (The Barrens, Westfall, Silverpine, Redridge) will remain strictly 100% single-layer with zero sharding or phasing, preserving authentic world PvP and community cohesion.
Build 1.60.5 Combat & Engine Hotfixes
Resolved an engine bug where Hunter and Warlock pets would clip through decks or despawn during zeppelin and boat zone transitions between continents.
Judgement mana cost reduced by 15% across all ranks to prevent severe early-level mana depletion in solo questing.
Polished the transition between ranged auto-shot and melee swing timers, eliminating occasional dropped swing ticks when enemies cross the 8-yard minimum range boundary.
Expanded the restful campfire radius by 4 yards, allowing entire 5-player parties to comfortably share rested status around player-crafted campfires.
