The Forever Open $100K Results: Warlockguy Crowned Champion in 3-1 Finals Thriller

The largest 1v1 dueling tournament in World of Warcraft history has concluded. After two grueling days of competition in Mount Hyjal Crater, Seed 20 Warlockguy Foreverpvp emerged victorious, defeating Seed 27 Neepzen 3-1 in the Grand Finals to claim $50,000 USD and the eternal title of 'Death\'s Duelist'.

The All-Warlock Grand Final: Warlockguy vs Neepzen

In an unexpected twist of tournament destiny, both Grand Finalists hailed from the Warlock class. Neepzen had previously sent Warlockguy to the Lower Bracket with a victory in Upper Round 6. However, Warlockguy dismantled Cdewx (Shaman) 2-0 in the Lower Bracket Finals to earn a rematch in the Grand Finals. After Neepzen struck first blood in Game 1, Warlockguy rallied with three consecutive wins to take the match 3-1.

The Cascade Rule & The 9 Class Champions

Under tournament regulations, $50,000 was set aside specifically to reward the highest-placing competitor from each of the nine classes (~$5,555.56 per class). Because Grand Champion Warlockguy won the tournament outright, the Warlock class purse cascaded down to the second-highest placing Warlock: runner-up Neepzen.
