Leveling in World of Warcraft: Forever combines classic zone progression with key new features: the Wilderness Camping system for on-demand rested XP, new Level 20–30 dungeons, and revamped weapon racials that make questing smoother than original Era.

Zone Progression Brackets (Alliance & Horde)

Fast Track Leveling Roadmap

Levels 1–12 (Starting Zones)

Clear your race's starting valley and secondary hub. Complete class questlines early (Bear Form, Defensive Stance, Voidwalker, Hunter Taming).

Levels 12–20 (Contested Foothills)

Westfall / Loch Modan (Alliance) or The Barrens / Silverpine (Horde). Run Deadmines or Wailing Caverns once for weapon upgrades and blue quest rewards.

Levels 20–30 (Excavation Site: Wetlands)

Target the new 5-player Excavation Site: Wetlands dungeon (14 quests) for dense XP and weapons. Weave Redridge Mountains, Ashenvale, and Duskwood.

Levels 30–40 (Shimmering Flats & STV)

Hillsbrad Foothills, Thousand Needles, Arathi Highlands, and Northern Stranglethorn. Pitch campfires at quest hubs to accumulate rested XP between play sessions.

Levels 40–50 (Mount Milestone & Midgame)

Unlock your 60% mount and Dual Spec at level 40. Tackle Tanaris (Zul'Farrak), Feralas, Hinterlands, and Searing Gorge.

Levels 50–60 (Pre-Raid BiS Slog)

Western and Eastern Plaguelands, Un'Goro Crater, Felwood, and Burning Steppes. Transition directly into BRD, LBRS, Stratholme, and Scholomance attunements.

The Wilderness Camping Rested Advantage

Because pitching a campfire, bedroll, and pot in the wilderness grants resting bonuses, never log off in the middle of a zone without setting camp. A 10-hour offline rest at a wilderness campsite generates substantial Rested XP for your next play session without wasting flight path time returning to an inn.
